“Clacă la coasă” is a reconstruction of an old custom: the Claca. This custom was a way to help community members cope with the many farm jobs for a year. It was also a good opportunity to “socialize” through singing, playing and good humor. This custom has come back to life in Baia Mare and takes place around the end of July. You can see the mowing by hand in traditional costumes, listen to traditional music from Maramures, sing songs and taste the local culinary specialties.
