Some wooden churches in Maramures have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. You can visit them by going to Surdesti, Plopis, Rogoz, Leud, Poeinile Izei, Barsana, Budesti and Desesti.They were built between the 16th and 19th centuries.
